Our Story

It’s a philosophy that founder Tunde Awe adopted long before he started the CRIVEL brand. Growing up, the Nigerian entrepreneur admired the style and poise of professional men, and their ability to pull together an outfit with fashionable accessories–whether classic suit-and-tie, or native Nigerian garbs. The one stylish feature that always stood out to him, was the wristwatch.

 

As Tunde entered the professional world as a banker, he immediately began to craft his own style, looking to those ahead of him for motivation. It was always the timepiece, tucked nicely into a clean-cut banker’s suit jacket, that made a lasting impression and represented the level of success he wanted to attain.

 

In 2017, the banker set his entrepreneurial sights on the luxury watch industry, and in January 2019 the CRIVEL brand was born. Tunde decided that it wasn’t enough to just aspire to that next level of style; he wanted to make it accessible and affordable for young professionals just like him. After many years of research and design, with trips to ateliers in China, Hong Kong, and Switzerland (the world’s cornerstone of fine watchmaking), Tunde found inspiration to build his own brand right at home in Lagos.

 

Steeped in style and class, and handcrafted for the urban professional in transition, this brand represents much more than just a statement of fashion; CRIVEL appeals directly to the personality of a self-starter, and a Time Master… just like its founder.
